Overview:
This position is a backfill for a person transitioning to a different team
This position is in support of two customer business units
Minimal local travel expected
6 months contract to hire
Looking for a mid-level resource
Must be in the office 5 days a week
This person will handle day to day operation of server and storage mgmt.
- VMware and vSAN -customer support
- Deploy agents on servers
- Daily monitoring
- Checking license and server status
Would like to start interviewing ASAP both rounds will be virtual
1st round technical interview with team and HR
2nd final round with manager
Start date: ASAP
Purpose of the Position:
- Provides technical leadership for maintenance, standards, life-cycle management, design, and implementation of servers and related infrastructure.
- Evaluates and implements high-impact IT solutions with leading-edge technologies while ensuring cost-effectiveness and practicality.
- Leads server and infrastructure-related designs, troubleshooting, performance testing, and problem analysis.
Essential Functions (Key Responsibilities):
Technical Leadership (75%)
- Server Administration & Management Oversee Windows/Linux servers & storage (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, File/Print Services).
- Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution Diagnose hardware/software issues using advanced techniques.
- Configuration & Maintenance Install, configure, patch, and update Windows/Linux servers.
- Software Deployment & Management Ensure software compliance and maintain application integrity.
- Backup & Disaster Recovery Implement backup strategies for data integrity and system recovery.
- Performance Monitoring & Optimization Track server performance metrics and optimize resources.
- Asset & Inventory Management Maintain records of server/storage hardware & warranties.
- Security & Compliance Enforce security measures and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
- Scripting & Automation Use PowerShell and other scripting tools for automation.
- Capacity Planning & Scaling Assess server capacity and recommend upgrades.
- Change Management Follow best practices for system updates & modifications.
- Vendor Management Handle vendor relationships for hardware & software procurement.
Customer Support & Project Coordination (25%)
- Evaluate & handle customer requests based on responsibilities.
- Act as a liaison between customers, project teams, and Infra Ops.
- Manage IT support tickets using ITSM.
- Contribute to IT projects related to Windows/Linux servers & storage.
- Lead & conduct project meetings with stakeholders.
Scope of Responsibilities:
Infrastructure Management (Windows/Linux servers, storage, virtualization, performance optimization).
Security & Compliance (Data protection, risk management, industry standards).
Scripting & Automation (PowerShell & administrative process automation).
Customer & Vendor Management (Coordination with IT teams, service providers).
Project Support & Change Management.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
No direct supervision but coordinates and advises on methods and procedures.
Decision Making & Discretion:
- Works on complex issues, requiring independent judgment in troubleshooting and technical decisions.
- Adheres to Change Management policies and follows best practices.
- Job Requirements:
- Education:
- Bachelor s degree in Information Technology (preferred).
Experience:
5 years of experience in Windows/Linux server administration.
2 years in VMware vSphere (preferably vSAN).
Skills:
- Strong communication & customer interaction skills.
- Analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Project management & teamwork abilities.
- Bilingual in Korean & English is a big plus.
Certifications (Preferred):
- Microsoft Certification (Windows Server).
- VMware Certification (vSphere/vSAN).
- Other relevant IT certifications.
