What are the responsibilities and job description for the Merchandise Planner position at EMERGING BLUE?
Our client is looking for a Merchandise Planner & Allocator who is responsible for assisting in planning responsibilities for their Brick and Mortar retail & ecommerce channels through strategic merchandise planning, controlled inventory management, and actionable reporting and insights. This individual assists in managing the open to buy for select categories and is able to speak to both pre-season and in-season plans. To excel, this person must have excellent analytical skills, applicable retail or work experience, creative problem-solving skills, and enjoy working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Core Responsibilities
- Support the planning team in managing the planning and allocation process for the Brick & Mortar store and support ecommerce channel as needed.
- Support team in developing and maintaining various reporting and analytical tools to meet/exceed sales and financial goals.
- Liaise with their cross-functional teams to make assortment planning decisions based on historical and in-season data.
- Analyze and recap actual sales results to plan and forecast in-season sales and inventory on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and ad hoc basis.
- Participate in the completion of departmental tasks, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Provide administrative support and/or analysis
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- At least 5 years of relevant experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel and Powerpoint
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with a sense of priority for deadlines and attention to detail
