Where You’ll Work:
We are hiring for VA Medical Centers and Clinics throughout Florida, including:
- James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital – Tampa, FL
- West Palm Beach VA Medical Center
- Vero Beach VA Clinic
- Other VA locations
What You’ll Do:
- Perform comprehensive oral health assessments, including periodontal charting and diagnostic radiographs.
- Conduct thorough teeth cleanings (scaling, polishing, and root planning) to prevent and treat periodontal disease.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, nutrition, and preventive care to maintain lifelong oral health.
- Administer topical fluoride treatments and desensitizing agents as needed.
- Assist in developing patient care plans in collaboration with VA dentists and other healthcare providers.
- Maintain strict infection control protocols to ensure patient and provider safety.
- Accurately document treatments and patient progress in electronic health records (EHR).
What You'll Bring:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene from an ADA-accredited program and an active Florida Dental Hygienist License.
- Must have a Radiology Certification and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Previous experience working in VA healthcare, federal facilities, or with veterans is a plus!
- Ability to educate and connect with patients, ensuring they feel comfortable and informed about their dental care.
