Responsibilities:
Provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients in the PCU/Tele unit.
Monitor and interpret EKG readings, recognizing and responding to rhythm changes.
Administer heparin drips and blood products as required.
Draw blood and start IVs with proficiency.
Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
Educate patients and families on disease processes, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
Float to other units as required.
Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with all safety and infection control protocols.
Skills/Experience Needed:
Recent Epic experience (within the last year) is required – candidates without this will not be considered.
Strong knowledge of cardiac care, telemetry monitoring, and CHF management.
Proficiency in starting IVs, drawing blood, administering heparin drips, and blood transfusions.
Ability to interpret EKGs and recognize rhythm changes.
Strong communication, teamwork, and critical-thinking skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing patient needs.
Education:
Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing is required.
Active RN license in Ohio (or compact state license).
Certifications:
RN License (required).
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - Required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required.
National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) – Required.
Salary : $1,930 - $2,640
