Hours: Days with occasional rotation
-Reporting to the Director of Pharmacy Services, the Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for providing pharmaceutical care through the verification, filling and dispensing of medication orders.
-Provides clinical services and medication information to medical staff and nurses ensuring appropriate medication use.
-Supervises and verifies the accuracy of all work performed by pharmacy technicians and students.
-Supports all clinical pharmacy services and initiatives including the pharmacy residency program.
-Works independently with limited supervision.
-Develops and promotes collaborative and collegial relationships with medical staff, nurses and other allied health clinical staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited college/university with a B.S. in Pharmacy or a Pharm.D. degree is required.
Experience:
- A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital pharmacy setting is highly preferred
- Completion of an ASHP accredited PGY1 residency desirable.
Licensure and/or Certification:
- Active licensed Pharmacist in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (or eligible for reciprocity) is required
- Board Certification is desirable
Skills:
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Computer skills required.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
