Job Summary
Under the general direction of the Cytology Supervisor and the Pathologists, performs cyto-diagnoses of benign, pre-malignant, and malignant disease on specimens with emphasis on fine needle aspirations. Performs and screens PAP Smears utilizing both Conventional and Thin Prep techniques.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Cytotechnology including a 12-month Cytotechnology Certification Program required;
or Bachelor’s degree with an additional year in a CAP approved Cytotechnology Training Program
Experience
Minimum of one year experience as a cytotechnologist or in a related position preferred
Licensure and/or Certification
CT (ASCP) registered required.
Skills
Excellent customer service skills.
Computer proficiency required.
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
Ability to maintain confidential information.
