What are the responsibilities and job description for the IS Helpdesk Intern position at Emerson Health?
Reporting to the IS Helpdesk Supervisor; the IS Helpdesk Intern will assist our IS operations team with various tasks, particularly desktop imaging, desktop deployment and phone support. The Helpdesk Intern will learn on the job with the guidance of our other IS Desktop Support team members. They will also be performing basic troubleshooting for hardware and software and providing feedback on our learning tools. The Helpdesk Intern will also follow guidelines on security protocols, including safely storing hardware in secure locations and managing permissions for installed software according to a Zero Trust model.

- Education: Associate’s degree in computer science, Information Systems or related specialty, and/or equivalent experience/ training.
- Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of experience providing end user support in a Helpdesk or Call Center environment would be preferred.
- Licensure and/or Certification: A valid Massachusetts Driver`s License may be required.
- Skills:
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Computer skills required.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve or escalate computer problems.
- Ability to interact positively with medical staff under difficult conditions
- Knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and PC hardware.
- Self-motivated and eager to learn new technologies, in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to interact favorably with people, and work effectively as a team member.
