What are the responsibilities and job description for the Global Product Environmental Compliance and Sustainability Manager position at Emerson?

Based in our Shakopee, MN location, you will lead Measurement Solutions' global product and operational environmental compliance efforts to drive outstanding strategies to align with established and evolving environmental regulations impacting global manufacturing sites including global chemical and substance regulations, directives impacting products throughout their lifecycle, and site sustainability initiatives.
In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Leading strategy and program development with global operations and engineering teams to mitigate risk and supporting business objectives while driving product environmental compliance (PEC) programs (e.g. RoHS, REACH, POPs, WEEE, Packaging, etc.).
- Developing and maintaining knowledge of existing and evolving PEC regulations and directives, while leading the Global PEC Steering team and communicating with senior leadership.
- Guiding the development of PEC programs, tools, systems, and processes, and providing training and assistance for their global implementation and adoption.
- Driving sustainability strategy, program development, and deployment across global operations (20 sites), including partnering with site-level Sustainability Leads and Green Teams.
- Supporting continuous improvement in operational environmental compliance performance while providing direction on anticipated future environmental regulatory requirements.
- Collaborating with global site Environmental, Health, and Safety leaders to assess environmental regulation impacts for significant operational changes (i.e. relocations, site closures, expansions, remodels, or acquisitions).
- Developing, tracking, and communicating reporting metrics and key performance indicators on product environmental compliance, sustainability, and operational environmental compliance

You provide timely and helpful information to individuals across the organization and deliver messages in a clear, compelling, and concise manner. You remain energized and effective when faced with ambiguity and uncertainty. You quickly and decisively take actions in fast-changing, unpredictable situations.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, Materials/Polymer Science, or related
- 8 years of related experience, including a focus on industrial product compliance with environmental regulatory requirements
- Travel up to 30% globally (multi-site responsibility)
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
- Leadership experience with a focus on excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong understanding of international product certification standards
- Knowledge of quality, supply chain and manufacturing systems and connection to regulatory or compliance requirements
- Proven project management abilities, with a track record of managing multiple priorities and deadlines
- Capability to collaborate effectively with across multiple business units globally

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during our annual merit review process. The salary range for this role is $134,600-$159,000 annually, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.
