In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- We assemble and test relief valves on air, water, steam, ammonia or gas to meet required pressure specifications.
- Make decisions with respect to the proper action of the valve such as setting and adjusting to accurate desired pressure, checking for seat tightness, and detecting any malfunction of valve and marking area of valve leakage.
- Perform a variety of assembly operations on all styles and sizes of valves such as tagging, stamping nameplates and data plates, attach seals and spring covers.
- Interpret orders for stamping of Nuclear, Navy and commercial nameplates.
- Perform preparation and painting operations in accordance with QA and customer requirements.
- Work from specifications, drawings or sketches to perform hand or machine lapping of any valve or nozzle seat, inserts and other parts.
- As necessary, operate two or more machines simultaneously.
- Use appropriate lapping compounds for specified surface flatness and mix various compounds accordingly. Also use special polishing compounds to attain high degree of surface finish.
- Use any equipment required to perform the duties of the function including operation of flow testing equipment.
- Daily interface daily with engineering, manufacturing, production control and Sales regarding customer requirements and valve problems to insure on-time deliveries are met

For This Role, You Will Need:
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment and the ability to read blueprints
- Experience measuring devices such as micrometers, verniers, height and depth comparators, and air gages.
- Able to work with minimal direction
- Willing to work unscheduled overtime to satisfy emergency or critical customer shipments.
- Prior machining experience
- Experience with valves
- Knowledge of MRP systems
