Major Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Produce fresh hair and makeup styles
- Style hair and apply makeup on one to two models daily, women’s and men’s
- Exceptionally skilled at interpreting and translating HMU ideas into catalog appropriate looks
- Ensure hair and makeup looks natural and well-applied under different lighting
- Be present and proactive on set to ensure that the models look their best throughout the day
- Collaborate with the team on set, Stylist, Photographer, and Photoshoot Director, to ensure continuity in overall look and feel between styling, hair, makeup, and posing
- Maintain current knowledge, skills, and standards of available makeup, beauty, and styling products and techniques
- Work with the photo studio team to maintain an up-to-date portfolio of HMU styles for each model
- Budget, source, and order materials and equipment from specialty suppliers
- Research and stay on top of current and emerging trends in beauty and fashion
- Keeping a clean and tidy work environment
What does a candidate need to demonstrate to perform this job successfully:
- Be passionate about their craft and an outstanding hair and makeup artist -- an expert and equally skilled in both!
- Possess extensive knowledge of make-up tools/tricks of the trade
- Experience working with all hair and skin types
- Excellent time management and demonstrate quality work in time-pressured conditions
- Ability to voice concern when something will not be able to be done in a timely manner
- Complete creative understanding of the FWRD and REVOLVE customer
- Love people! Team player, drama free
- Attention to detail and proactive; taking pride in their work!
- Always willing to do more and experiment- never quite satisfied with the result!
Minimum candidate qualifications (years of experience, education level, technical skills, software, etc):
- Desire to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment
- Ability to work in the intensity of a high production studio and capable of upholding the highest quality standards
- Excellent time management skills, ability to prioritize tasks, and stay calm under pressure
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
- Highly creative, keep a book of tears for inspiration
- Team player who is able to take direction
- Shows maturity and professionalism with co-workers and talent
- Quick learner and strong problem-solving skills
- Should be self-motivated and has an outgoing personality
- Positive attitude and excellent interpersonal skills
- Desire to improve everything they touch, to learn, and to grow
- Should be able to stand on his/her feet for 8 hours
- Professional portfolio that demonstrates expertise in HMU
Preferred qualifications (years of experience, education level, technical skills, software, etc):
- Experience working in a photo studio setting
- Degree in Fashion, Merchandising, Photography, or other Visual Communications Arts
- Proficient in Mac and PC computer systems

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in California, Revolve includes a reasonable estimate of the salary or hourly rate range for this role. This takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions; including but not limited to business or organizational needs, skill sets, experience and training, licensure, and certifications.
A reasonable estimate of the current base hourly range is $30.00/hr to $31.25/hr.
