Position Overview:

We’re seeking a passionate and dynamic NY Field Organizer to lead outreach and engagement efforts across New York. In this role, you’ll connect with houses of worship, schools, camps, organizations, and community leaders to onboard them onto the Emissary app and ensure they’re equipped to maximize its potential. You’ll also develop and manage sub-committees of champions within these communities, empowering individuals to leverage their skills to further Emissary’s mission.

As a key representative of Emissary in New York, you’ll develop and host events, represent the organization at public gatherings, support fundraising initiatives, and maintain ongoing communication with the communities you serve. This is an at-will employment position, and new hires will undergo a 90-day probationary period, with check-ins at 45 and 90 days to assess progress and alignment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Community Engagement & Onboarding: Build strong relationships with New Yorkbased community leaders and organizations to encourage and facilitate their use of the Emissary app.
  • Develop SubCommittees: Identify and cultivate champions within New York communities to form subcommittees that utilize their unique skills to advance Emissary’s mission.
  • Event Development: Plan and execute dynamic events, workshops, and trainings to introduce and promote the app.
  • Public Speaking: Represent Emissary at community events, conferences, and meetings across New York to inspire action and spread awareness about our mission.
  • Ongoing Support: Maintain consistent communication with leaders/champions, offering guidance, support, and resources to ensure their success with the platform.
  • Fundraising Support: Collaborate with the fundraising team to identify and assist with initiatives that support Emissary’s mission and growth.
  • Feedback & Insights: Gather user feedback to inform platform improvements and tailor outreach strategies.

  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to motivate and organize individuals into effective teams or committees.
  • Strong Communication: An inspiring speaker and writer who can build trust and mobilize action.
  • Event Management Expertise: Experience in planning and executing impactful events with diverse audiences.
  • TechSavvy: Comfortable with apps and digital tools, with the ability to explain their value to nontechnical audiences.
  • Organized & SelfDriven: Adept at managing multiple priorities, meeting deadlines, and working independently.
  • Travel Ready: Willingness to travel across New York for meetings, events, and outreach efforts as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with faithbased organizations, schools, or advocacy groups in New York.
  • Background in nonprofit work, community organizing, or public engagement.
  • Familiarity with the Emissary app or similar platforms.
