Job Summary
Service Technicians are responsible for performing both shop and/or field repairs, maintenance service.
Essential Job Functions
- Perform technical skills including but not limited to: Mechanical, Electrical, Refrigeration, Troubleshooting and Repair.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance service and/or repairs.
- Read and interpret operational manuals, electrical schematics, universal literature, and work orders to perform required maintenance and/or repairs.
- Perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Detect faulty operations, defective material, and any other unusual activities and report them in a timely manner.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly shop work areas, company vehicles, and job site work areas
- Drive company vehicle to and from job sites throughout the day. Overnight travel by land and/or air may be required on occasion
- May perform work requiring the use of welding tools, winch, pulley, hoist and/or pallet jack.
- Other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (including physical and work environment)
- Working knowledge of mechanical operation, associated hazards, and proper usage of various equipment.
- Ability to interpret schematics and operational manuals for practical application on repair and maintenance tasks.
- Working knowledge of fundamental mathematical operations.
- Skilled usage of mechanical tools.
- Ability to perform duties in non-climate controlled environments such as outdoor weather conditions and non-weather related wet, humid and/or extreme heat conditions
- Position requires extended periods of standing, extended periods of sitting while driving, as well as bending, pulling, pushing, reaching, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and the use of hands to finger, grasp, handle and feel often in repetitive motion
- Ability to handle heavy work – exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly to move objects.
- Requires the ability to speak in a manner that conveys detailed or important instructions accurately, loudly, or quickly
- Ability to hear by receiving detailed verbal information or by making distinction in sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction.
- Visual sharpness to operate motor vehicles and heavy equipment in a safe manner with or without correction.
- Foodservice custom fabrication experience preferred.
Minimum Job Qualifications (education, work experience, licenses/certifications)
- High School or equivalent (GED)
- Three to five years of related work experience or training or equivalent combination of both education and experience
- Motor Vehicle Record must be in good standing and comply with Company policy
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position
- Preferred refrigeration skills and experience
