Job Summar
Emkat have client for packer Manufacturing is seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our warehouse and logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to load, unload, and move products and materials within our production and storage areas. This position is critical to maintaining efficient warehouse operations, supporting production lines, and ensuring timely order fulfillment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach truck, or pallet jack) to move, load, unload, and stack materials and products.
- Transport raw materials and finished goods to designated areas within the facility.
- Support production by supplying materials and removing finished products.
- Perform daily forklift inspections and report any mechanical issues.
- Safely handle products to prevent damage or contamination.
- Accurately track inventory movements using scanners, labels, or paperwork.
- Follow all safety guidelines, OSHA standards, and company procedures.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas.
- Assist in cycle counts and physical inventory when required.
- Communicate with warehouse, production, and shipping/receiving teams to ensure accurate material flow.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Minimum 1–2 years of forklift experience in a manufacturing or warehouse setting.
- Valid forklift certification/license (required or provided upon hire).
- Strong attention to detail and safety.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
- Good communication skills and a team-player attitude.
Preferred Experience (Optional):
- Experience with RF scanners, warehouse management systems (WMS), or ERP systems.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing or 5S principles.
- Previous work in a manufacturing facility handling raw materials, components, or finished goods.
Work Conditions:
- Standing and operating equipment for extended periods.
- Exposure to temperature variations depending on warehouse climate.
- May require overtime and weekend shifts based on production needs.
