Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Press Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating press brake machines and ensuring the production of high-quality sheet metal components. This role requires a solid understanding of mechanical processes, blueprint reading, and the ability to work with various hand tools. As a Press Operator, you will play a crucial role in the assembly and machining of parts while adhering to safety standards and operational protocols.
Responsibilities
- Operate press brake machines to bend and shape sheet metal according to specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine machine setup and tooling requirements.
- Utilize hand tools and calipers for precise measurements and adjustments during the production process.
- Assemble components as per engineering specifications, ensuring quality control throughout the process.
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Troubleshoot any issues that arise during the operation of machinery, making necessary adjustments as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all safety protocols.
Skills
- Proficiency in operating press brake machines is essential.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in machining processes.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Familiarity with tooling techniques and basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
- Experience using hand tools, calipers, and other measuring instruments effectively.
- Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes is preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
This exciting and challenging position requires an individual to understand all facets of Amada turret punch operation. You’ll be required to set up and run jobs using provided documentation. If you do not have experience specifically with Amada, but do have experience with other turret punches, we look forward to receiving your application as well.
Requirements
- 3 years minimum set up and run Amada Vipros punch press or 3 years minimum set up and run Amada EM punch press (or similar equipment)
- Knowledge of and ability to edit G & M codes at the controller a plus
- Extensive knowledge of special tooling lances, countersinks, and forming tools
Additional Details
- 2nd Shift Monday – Thursday 3:30pm to 2:00am. Friday, Saturday, Sunday off and don’t go to work until 3:30pm Monday. Nice long weekends every week!
- Salary based on experience.
