Job Summary:
The Warehouse Worker plays a critical role in the efficient operation of a packaging manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for receiving, storing, organizing, and distributing raw materials and finished packaging products. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced, safety-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Receiving & Inventory Management:
- Unload deliveries of raw materials (plastics, cardboard, films, etc.)
- Inspect incoming materials for accuracy, quality, and damage
- Accurately record inventory in warehouse management systems (WMS)
- Label and store items in designated warehouse zones
Material Handling & Fulfillment:
- Pull and stage raw materials for production lines according to schedule
- Package and palletize finished goods for shipment
- Load outgoing shipments and ensure accurate documentation
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely
Organization & Cleanliness:
- Keep warehouse clean, safe, and organized at all times
- Maintain compliance with 5S or Lean Manufacturing principles
- Dispose of packaging waste and damaged products according to policy
Documentation & Reporting:
- Complete daily logs for inventory movement and shipments
- Report low inventory levels or discrepancies to supervisor
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines
Skills & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- 1 year of warehouse experience preferred (especially in manufacturing or packaging industries)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, stand, and walk for extended periods
- Familiarity with warehouse equipment (forklifts, scanners, pallet jacks)
- Basic math and computer skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Forklift certification (preferred or willing to obtain)
Work Environment:
- Temperature-controlled and non-temperature-controlled zones
- Exposure to noise and machinery
- Use of PPE (personal protective equipment) required at all times
