SUMMARY

In this full-time position, Vehicle Accident Adjusters play a key role in ensuring that EMKAY's customers receive the necessary assistance in managing the accident reporting and the adjusting process. There are numerous moving parts throughout this process and it’s up to EMKAY's professionals to keep those parts organized and progressing. Our professionals process and maintain records of transactions and provide customer service for the EMKAY Accident Management department by performing the following duties.

Please Note: This is a professional business office position. No travel is required to perform the necessary duties for this position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Subject to change based on customer and corporate needs.

  • Adhere to all EMKAY guidelines and as well client guidelines concerning, but not limited to the following: work conduct, customer service, policy, claims process, writing and quoting estimates, reviews, and claim closures as they relate to the given claim assignment.
  • Provide quality customer service to all assigned drivers throughout the claims process.
  • Must have the ability to listen effectively and communicate with all levels of customers, vendors & EMKAY staff.
  • Collaborate with clients, other adjusters, insurance carriers, and EMKAY department representatives during the process of resolving claims.
  • Document motor vehicle losses in detail and arrange short-term rental transportation when needed.
  • Obtain repair status, estimate status, and police reports from clients and vendors.
  • This position is not departmentalized. EMKAY adjusters must manage the accident case from start to finish by taking the accident report, investigating, obtaining reports, and managing the body shop work and costs on behalf of our customers.
  • Document cost savings from point-of-sale negotiations and invoice auditing.
  • Attention to detail reviewing damaged vehicle estimates and planning the best solution to have the vehicle repaired and restored to the customer in the most time-expeditious, and cost-effective manner possible.
  • The adjuster is responsible for auditing all vendor's invoices for accuracy and approve for prompt payment.
  • Must have the ability to comprehend automotive technical material.
  • Resolve customer and driver concerns, issues, and complaints.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for assisting in the overall department customer service effort by using a professional, articulate, and pleasant manner of communication when communicating with customers, drivers, vendors, government agencies, and EMKAY employees.
  • Must have proficient computer skills to function in house software systems, Microsoft Office, and estimating programs for evaluating and determining the scope of damages and repair costs.
  • Team player is necessary to interact, research, and respond to requests for information and services, from personnel in other EMKAY departments and offices, in a timely and accurate manner
  • Ability to ensure all correspondence is EMKAY compliant as outlined in our company Marketing Guidelines
  • Performs special projects and duties as assigned by the department Manager

COMPETENCIES

  • Ability to work without constant supervision
  • Research and problem-solving skills
  • General arithmetic skills such as addition, subtraction, percentages and multiplication
  • Must have good keyboarding skills and have previous office experience with Microsoft Office, especially with Outlook, Word, and Excel

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Comprehensive knowledge of property claims practices
  • Basic knowledge of repair techniques
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of the various estimating programs/platforms used in the industry

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Minimum of a High School graduate or equivalent work experience. Technical degree in automotive repair field is preferred Current I-Car and/or A.S.E. certification is preferred. Prior automotive, fleet leasing, office, and customer service experience is a plus.

WORK SCHEDULE

This position is defined as forty hours per week qualifying the employee for the standard benefits package made available to all full-time employees. The work schedule may be subject to revision depending on customer and Department needs.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
