JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: FOOD SERVICE DIRECTOR
REPORTS TO: Superintendent/Assistant Superintendent
JOB SUMMARY: Plans, Organizes and Directs the School Food Service Program
QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma/G.E.D. and a minimum of three years of relevant experience in school nutrition programs
Must be self –motivated and carry out tasks with minimum supervision. Dependable, loyal and have a positive attitude. Demonstrated ability to accomplish the major duties and responsibilities listed below.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directs the school food service program in conformance with Federal and State laws and regulations, local and State health ordinances, and school district policies.
Develops and recommends changes in food service program policies and procedures to district administrators, including application processing, meal ticket or token processing, and meal ticket procedures under the free and reduced-priced meal program for qualifying students.
Prepares and administers the food service department budget, including subsidy and other income projections and control of expenditures.
Purchases food, equipment, supplies, etc., in accordance with budgetary limitations and district policy.
Analyzes food service department financial statements.
Keeps records and prepares reports.
Develops and implements standards for the operation of an efficient, sanitary, and high quality food service program.
Recruits, trains, supervise, and evaluate all foodservice personnel, and makes recommendations on their employment, transfer, promotion and release.
Trains food service staff in the use of new products, equipment, and techniques. Develops a training schedule to refresh and update skills.
Deals with students, parents, staff and others in a positive encouraging manner.
Supervisor will be responsible for collecting funds and for records kept in compliance with Federal and State regulations and established financial practices.
Knows and follows school policy and chain of command.
Acts ethically and confidentially in all aspects of employment.
Performs such district related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Memorial Day
All non-certificated staff not under contract are under “at will employment”. Their positions shall be considered in all respects “employment at will” and the employee is subject to discharge by the district at any time without cause. The “employment period” and other descriptions and terms set forth in their job descriptions shall not create a property right in the employee and such are set forth only to advise the employee of when and what type of services will be required by the district so long as employment continues.
The employment period shall be for (194) day with vacations as specified in District Rules and Regulations. The salary shall be commensurate with the employee’s appropriate place on the approved wage
