JOB SUMMARY:
As an after-school youth mentor, works in conjunction with the after-school coordinator, to facilitate activities with students.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To provide pupil guidance, which will promote good citizenship, and encourage lifelong learning.
- To provide for the care and protection of students
- To provide for the care of materials, equipment, and facilities.
- To participate in the planning, evaluation, and upgrading of the school program.
- To be responsible for student attendance and permanent records.
- To maintain cordial and cooperative working relationships with colleagues.
- To report pupil progress to the administration and parents in such form as the administrator may direct.
- To be a role model and example that promotes good habits and behavior from the students.
- To provide an atmosphere of dignity, mutual respect, industry, and self-initiative.
- To instruct in safety about the buildings and equipment the student may come in contact with.
- Knows and follows school policy and the chain of command.
- Acts ethically and confidentially in all aspects of employment.
- Performs such school-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
