Job Overview:
The Community School Coordinator (CSC) plays a vital role in supporting the implementation and success of community school initiatives within the educational system in Idaho. This position involves collaborating with various stakeholders, including school administrators, teachers, parents, community organizations, and local agencies, to develop and coordinate programs and services that address the needs of students, families, and the community. The CSC acts as a lead facilitator and advocate to create a positive and inclusive learning environment. The CSC will be responsible for identifying key barriers for children and families that may impact learning and may also impact the overall physical and mental well-being of students and their families.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Program Development and Coordination:
- Collaborate with school staff, community partners, and stakeholders to identify the needs of students and families through annual needs and asset assessment process.
- Develop and implement an annual community school site action plan that aligns with the school's goals and objectives.
- Coordinate and oversee the implementation of programs, initiatives, and services to address identified needs.
- Monitor program effectiveness and make data-driven adjustments to improve outcomes.
2. Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration:
- Foster strong relationships with school personnel, families, community organizations, and agencies to facilitate collaboration and resource sharing.
- Facilitate site-based Community School Advisory Council comprised of a broadly representative consortium of community stakeholders to support the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Community School Strategy.
- Lead community conversations, workshops and events to promote communication and collaboration among the community.
- Serve as a liaison between the school, community organizations, and families to ensure effective partnerships.
3. Student and Family Support:
- Identify barriers to student success and well-being and develop strategies to address them.
- Develop partnerships and build sustainable systems to connect families with community resources and services to meet their specific needs.
- Collaborate with school personnel and external partners to implement strategies for student attendance and engagement.
4. Data Collection and Reporting:
- Collect and analyze data related to program outcomes and student/family needs.
- Maintain accurate records of program activities, attendance, and participation.
- Prepare reports and presentations to share program achievements, challenges, and recommendations.
- Use data to inform program improvements and decision-making.
5. Professional Development:
- Stay updated on best practices, research, and trends in community schools and related fields.
- Attend required training sessions, conferences, and workshops to enhance professional knowledge and skills.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in education, social work, community development, or a related field (five or more years of experience in the field).
- Experience working in educational settings, community-based organizations, or social service agencies.
- Knowledge of community school strategy.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to analyze data, evaluate programs, and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
- Familiarity with local community resources and social service agencies.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug test.
- Public speaking will be required.
- Able to safely lift up to 25 pounds.
- Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
- Occasional use of a personal vehicle for the transportation of supplies and to attend offsite meetings.
- Flexibility to occasionally work outside usual office business hours.
