About the role
emocha supports public health departments with their efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19 and other infectious diseases. In this role you will conduct COVID-19 case interviews or further identify individuals who may have come in contact with a COVID-19- infected person and then collect further information to isolate and quarantine individuals as necessary.
This is a full-time contract position working remotely.
Responsibilities
• Call cases or contacts of newly diagnosed COVID-19 patients;
• Communicate with cases and contacts in a professional and empathetic manner;
• Collect and record information on symptoms and other relevant exposures;
• COVID-19 Investigator will follow the script to inform cases and contacts about the importance of isolation and quarantine and what to do if symptoms develop if applicable;
• Complete documentation into various data systems, such as RedCap and ODRS. May send out notice of isolation letters.
• Leverages data tools to quickly and accurately update records and run reports
• Adhere to confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines
• Other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
• Experience in Public Health setting, medical or related field preferred;
• Excellent interpersonal skills required and ability to interact professionally with culturally diverse individuals during a time of crisis and distress;
• High attention to detail
• Prior experience entering data into the REDCap platform.(Preferred)
• Excellent organizational and communication skills;
• Ability to work well under pressure and be a self-starter
• Ability to speak, read, and write English, bilingual preferred;
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to handle sensitive personal information and maintain confidentiality
• Previous Experience as a COVID-19 case investigator/ contact tracer. (Preferred)
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent license/certification in a health-science field
• Current Ohio resident or familiarity with the Columbus metro area (Preferred)
• Must have completed the Contact Tracer Certification through The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine upon hire
Available for a minimum of 35 hours per week during Monday-Friday, 9a.m. to 5 p.m. ET business hours.
Technology requirements:
Access to Wi-fi and cellular connectivity (Computer and zoom line to be provided)
Bonus points: experience with CRMs, customer support software, and the healthcare industry
Bonus points: Fluency in Spanish, Somali, Pashto, or Nepali.
