Description
We’re looking for an experienced Surgical Assist / First Assist (SA / FA) . Our Technologist are integral members of inter-professional teams in hospitals and clinics that are committed to outstanding patient care, driven by their expertise, compassion and operate at a higher level of practice .
responsible for assisting the surgeon under direct and indirect supervision throughout preoperative, intraoperative, and post-operative duties and procedures
Provide aid in exposure, hemostasis, closure, and other intraoperative technical functions
Familiar with common positions related to the procedure and will be able to use the equipment necessary to provide the position
Utilizes appropriate standards of care, and / or collaborative clinical pathways to guide the plan of care.
Successfully completes hospital and department-based orientation programs, attending educational programs to develop optimal knowledge in area of specialty.
Minimum Qualifications :
Graduate and / or certification from surgical assisting programs accredited through ARC / STSA.
2 years of surgical assistant / first assistant experience is required. Some areas may require specialized experience. (i.e. in cardiothoracic surgery, two years of directly related experience is required).
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association required.
