  • Opportunities:  On-site interviews for Medical Assistant positions in our specialty clinics throughout our system.
  • Requirements:  Medical Assistant certification from NHA, NCCT, AAMA, or AMT.  Current BLS from the American Heart Association upon hire.
  • Shifts:  Full-Time

Description

Join us for a hiring event to interview for MA positions with hiring managers across all of our specialty clinics.

 

We are looking for compassionate and patient focused Medical Assistants for opportunities in our specialty clinics.  This is an exciting opportunity to join one of Emory Healthcare's clinic teams where you will be part of a collaborative environment dedicated to providing exceptional patient care.  

 

The Medical Assistant Hiring Event will be held on April 24th, 2025 from 3:00 to 8:00 PM.  Please RSVP to express interest in attending the on-site event.  Qualified MA candidates will be contacted directly to confirm location and interview time.  

 

Job Description:

  • Performs assigned patient care and observation duties under the direction of a licensed provider, RN, or LPN.
  • Responsible for performing routine and more complex medical assistant clinical duties to include, but not limited to, taking vital signs, administering a limited profile of medications per The Emory Clinic approved policy, performing simple diagnostic tests, collecting specimens, drawing blood, sterilizing and cleaning equipment, and maintaining examination rooms in an outpatient care setting.
  • Assists in emergency situations as directed by an licensed provider, RN, or LPN.
  • May also be responsible for some administrative duties in support of patient and practice operations including patient check in/out, responding to patient requests, reinforcing patient and family education, and visitor/telephone reception.
  • Maintains patients' charts and records data, ensuring proper identification, documentation, routing, and confidentiality.
  • Maintains a clean and healthy environment in compliance with Universal Precaution guidelines and safety standards.
  • Orders, verifies, and stores unit supplies.
  • All duties and patient interaction performed in accordance with Emory Healthcare patient and family centered care standards.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • One year work experience preferred.
  • Current AHA BLS certification is required for hire and must be maintained throughout employment.
  • Current certification as one of the following is required: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from the American Medical Technologists (AMT), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) from the National Healthcareer Association (NHA), or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) from National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).
  • Preferred certification is the CMA or RMA.
  • Must successfully complete all medical assistant orientation and training requirements and annual skills competency.
