We are seeking a Specialty Director, Surgical Services responsible and accountable for assuring 24 hour efficient management of the surgical services division. This individual is responsible for assuring the delivery of high quality health care services and high performance patient, physician and employee satisfaction. Responsibilities in this acute care facility caring for primarily adults 18-65 or geriatric patients ages over 65, infant age 0-1 year, child ages 1-12 years or adolescent ages 13-17 years and includes:
- Management of unit operation, assuring quality and appropriateness of patient care, management of fiscal and material resources.
- Responsible of Human Resources management of the unit including personnel counseling, maintenance of highly qualified nursing staff, and job performance evaluations.
- Serves as the regulatory and compliance expert for surgical services as well as the Chief Quality and Safety Officer for the division.
- Supports the Outpatient Surgical Management, LLC and CV Partners LLC through Board and/or committee participation, involvement in LLC projects and implementation/monitoring of LLC initiatives.
- Nursing division responsibilities include coverage of other units, special projects as directed.
- Implementation and standardization of nursing practices in Surgical Services, new program development as needed, and participation in shared governance practice model.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A minimum of three-five years progressive management experience with at least seven years in the field.
- Master's degree is required. Preferable a MSN. If master's degree is in a business or other applicable health related field other than nursing, a BSN is required.
- National certification in clinical specialty or nursing administration required.
- Membership in a national nursing organization or a healthcare organization is required.
- Current Georgia Professional registered nursing license.
