Description

Emory's Chief Public Health Informatics Officer and Vice President of Population Health Informatics collaborates across Emory teams and partners to advance Emory's digital strategy for innovation in public health and population health informatics as it relates to :

  • Advancement of public health technology to prevent disease and protect the publics health
  • Public health informatics workforce development
  • Public health informatics research
  • Contribution to governmental policy and efforts related to health care and public health data
  • Application of technology to protect and manage the health care needs of populations
  • Use of informatics to support transformation of health care through value-based care, working to close care gaps, prevent illness and improve overall community health
  • Establishes Emory as a technology development partner and pilot testbed for public health and industry seeking to develop public health informatics solutions
  • Identifies, supports and cultivates funding opportunities for development of public health informatics solutions
  • Drives Emory's voice in local, state, national and global governmental policy and regulation related to health care and public health data needs
  • Advances public health informatics research within the Emory community
  • Identifies, establishes and fosters alliances and partnerships for public health informatics
  • Leads Emory's strategy to provide public health the health care data it needs to inform public health decision making, with a focus on decreased burden for the Emory team with automation, patient privacy and quality data
  • Advances public health informatics education within Emory and for those already in the public health workforce
  • In concert with the Chief Health Informatics Officer and Clinical Informatics team, provisions and leads operational change management of integrated population health tools to support Emory clinical teams in having and using the technology tools needed to manage the health care needs of populations
  • In collaboration with the Chief Health Informatics Officer and Clinical Informatics team, guides the use of technology and informatics tools to support the transformation of health care through value-based care, working to close care gaps, prevent illness and improve overall community health
  • Partners with Emory Healthcare Network (EHN) leadership on technical applications and data needs to support the scaling of value-based care efforts within the EHN
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Master's degree in Public Health, Health Care Administration, Informatics, Business Administration or a related field
  • Minimum of 7 years experience in similar or related fieldVisionary thinker with the ability to anticipate future trends in public health and population health informaticsCollaborative leader with a strong commitment to teamwork and partnershipProactive and results-oriented individual with a focus on achieving measurable outcomesExtensive experience in public health and clinical informaticsDemonstrated leadership experience in health care and public healthProven track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams and external partners to advance digital health strategiesExperience in securing funding for public health informatics projectsStrong understanding of public health informatics principles and practicesAbility to lead and drive innovation in public health technology to prevent disease and protect public health Proficiency in workforce development and public health informatics educationResearch aptitude within the field of public health informaticsCompetence in establishing and fostering alliances and partnerships for public health informaticsCapability to provision and lead operational change management for integrated population health tools
