The Emory Clinic: A Dynamic Team of Clinicians, Educators, and Researchers
The Emory Clinic is seeking a Geriatric Psychiatrist to join a dynamic team of clinicians, educators, and researchers dedicated to delivering high-quality care in an innovative environment. Our mission focuses on developing new treatments and training the next generation of psychiatrists.
Key Responsibilities of the Geriatric Psychiatrist Role
- Providing psychiatric care to new patients
- Supervising fellows, residents, and medical students
- Conducting quality assessments
- Attending case conferences
- Participating in administrative and educational meetings
- Engaging in research, including clinical studies, quality improvement initiatives, and the development of evidence-based practices and specialty treatments
Additional Responsibilities and Time Allocation
Inpatient on-call responsibilities will be part of the faculty call system. The role is structured with 80% clinical care and 20% dedicated to administration and teaching or research. Research or related funding may adjust the time allocation for these activities.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Minimum qualifications include an MD or DO degree, completion of a four-year psychiatry residency, and a geriatric psychiatry fellowship
- Candidates must hold or be eligible for a medical license in the State of Georgia and must be board certified or board eligible
