Description

Primary emphasis for this role includes analyses and projects supporting analyses related to campus life, student engagement, belonging, and representation at the program, department, school, and institutional levels. Successful applicants will have subject matter knowledge and expertise related to student success and identity groups including data definitions, survey design (Qualtrics), program evaluation, and data analytics (SPSS/STATA/R).

 

Works heavily in developing and presenting data visualizations (Tableau). Will work closely with colleagues from across the institution by serving on committees, consulting on surveys, collecting data, and developing dashboards and reports related to surveys of students, faculty, staff, and other members of the university community.

 

Successful candidates will also have a strong background in data and analytics. This individual will cross-train with other staff members to learn more about admissions, enrollment, retention, graduation, faculty, HR, and other key areas of work in Institutional Research and Decision Support.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collects, prepares, and analyzes data to support institutional data needs.
  • Primary responsibilities include preparing accurate and timely data for external data submissions, collecting and managing data associated with partner consortia, designing summary reports, and producing data to support operational efficiencies in collaboration with other institutional departments.
  • May assist campus partners in designing survey instruments, collecting survey data in Qualtrics, and developing reports in Tableau.
  • Supports the assessment and reporting needs of the University and its departments to federal, state, and other accrediting agencies.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree and two years of data collection and analysis experience or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
  • Strong analytical and research skills as well as written and oral communication skills required.
  • Preference will be given to applicants with a background demonstrating skills in analytical tools and methodologies (Excel PivotTables, STATA, SPSS, SAS, R, Tableau).

NOTE: Tasks related to this position can be performed remotely with only occasional supported visits to an Emory University location.  Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
