Description
Under the direction of a Crew Leader, constructs, plants, maintains, and repairs new landscape areas in assigned sections of campus.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Operates ground maintenance equipment including lawn movers, trimmers, edgers, backpack and street blowers and pressure washer equipment.
- Prunes trees and shrubs. Removes trash and debris from assigned areas of campus.
- Monitors and activates irrigation systems. May apply fertilizer and pesticides to landscape areas.
- May drive utility vehicles to and from worksites. Performs related responsibilities as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A high school diploma or equivalent. One year of landscape or grounds maintenance experience.
- Some positions within this classification may require a valid Category 24 Ornamental and Turf Control Pesticide Applicators License from the Georgia Department of Agriculture or the ability to obtain certification within six months of employment.
- Some positions within this classification may require a valid Georgia driver's license, an insurable driving record and the ability to lift 50 pounds and to bend, stoop and twist.
Ability to understand and follow communicated instructions.
NOTE: Position tasks are required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location; working remote is not an option. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
