JOB DESCRIPTION:
- The Research Administration Specialist supports research administration-related activities in the day-to-day operations and objectives of the assigned department.
- Acts as a contact for department managers, staff, and outside parties related to research administration.
- Assists in developing, implementing, and managing programs or projects. Assists with researching, compiling, and preparing routine or ad-hoc reports. Maintains records, files, and logs.
- Assists in initiating or maintaining contact with internal and external customers, vendors, committee members.
- May coordinate logistical activities involving the planning, content, and speakers for meetings, training, or other related activities.
- May assist in managing pre/post-award activities for an assigned portfolio of grants and contracts.
- Follows established procedures and practices to ensure research complies with federal, state and University guidelines.
- May review, monitor, and fiscal transactions, including account reconciliation, cash transactions, and billing.
- May assist with processing of account/award set up and maintenance within the Compass (PeopleSoft) System to ensure Emory's research data integrity.
- May assist in the review, interpretation, and process of award setup data or the financial management of clinical trials.
- May coordinate documentation for invoices, pre and/or post award functions, and meeting organization.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent and one year of business/finance, IT, research administration or related experience OR an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
- Proficient computer skills to include MS Office Suite.
NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University location as needed. All biweekly employees must reside within the State of Georgia. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
