Job Description:
The Summer Job Coach is responsible for the daily operation of the Summer Work Experience program site. This includes worksite training of the participants (hard skills) and providing onsite social skills training as needed (soft skills). The job coach is responsible for guiding and directing participants one-on-one through varying workplace scenarios. The job coach must set a professional example and expectation through their actions, attendance, and dress. The job coach must act as an advocate on behalf of all participants. The job coach must communicate with the participating business to ensure business needs are met and a positive working relationship is maintained. The job coach must be able to work independently with their participants and make decisions necessary to guide their participants to a successful and positive work experience.
Responsibilities:
- Training and supervision of the participants.
- Monitoring participant safety and taking immediate action in the event of an accident.
- Completing all training documentation and reports as required.
- Assisting in the development and motivation of participant job skills.
- Communicating with work site personnel regarding any relevant issues.
- Communicating with parents/guardians about the progress of summer participants.
- Facilitating the development of relationships between business partner personnel and participants.
- Facilitating on-site social skills lessons as needed.
- Advising on workplace accommodations if needed for the participant.
- Transport participants to/from work as needed.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Prior experience working with people with disabilities is preferred but not required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Reliable transportation.
- Class E license obtained prior to start of program.
Monday-Friday, no nights/weekends, daytime hours, 6-week program (June-July 2025), trainings and onboarding will be held before program starts.
Job Types: Part-time, Temporary
Pay: $17.00 per hour
