JOB SUMMARY:
Provides critical analysis and documentation for the Safety Department, applying OSHA, DOT, MSHA, industry and other regulations, processes and best practices. This position is a key contact for the Safety Department, serving as a liaison for other Empire employees.

JOB SUMMARY:
Provides critical analysis and documentation for the Safety Department, applying OSHA, DOT, MSHA, industry and other regulations, processes and best practices. This position is a key contact for the Safety Department, serving as a liaison for other Empire employees.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Support assigned team members with incident communication.
- Analyze compliance and incident data and track employee incident data in records management systems through close coordination with Safety, Human Resource and Risk Management personnel.
- Analyze, track, and verify employee safety and DOT training and compliance records.
- Plan, organize and facilitate safety and compliance training to area supervisors on identified Federal, State, Local regulations and Empire Safety Policies.
- Administer company compliance programs, such as hearing conservation, respirator, and hazcom.
- Maintain strong knowledge of current OSHA, MSHA, and DOT regulations.
- Research, analyze, and recommend solutions to safety compliance problems.
- Facilitate incident investigations and reporting.
- Work safely at all times. Adhere to all applicable safety policies. Comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Assist with reviews and revisions of Corporate Safety Policies and Procedures to ensure comprehension and uniform compliance.
- Independently compose written communication with excellent grammar and composition skills.
- Interact daily with other departments and stores to assist with basic safety compliance issues and questions.
- Maintain confidentiality in all matters related to the departmental unit and organization.
- Perform administrative duties as needed to meet departmental goals and obligations.
- Work within and promote corporate values.
- Ability to perform duties with speed and accuracy without immediate and constant supervision.
- Must have strong organizational skills.
- Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, MSHA, and other regulatory agencies.
- Must have strong team attitude and conflict resolution skills.
- Must have basic math skills.
- Ability to analyze data, inquiries or processes and make recommendations independently.
- Strong computer to skills to work independently to process data and solve basic problems.
- Must be able to meet all safety requirements for applicable safety policies and use of all required safety equipment.
- Must have acceptable attendance to meet all company standards and requirements.
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- Minimum 2 years safety related work.
- Required knowledge of DOT and OSHA regulations.
- Previous experience using office productivity software, such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
