We are seeking a Fleet Maintenance Manager to join our team and uphold our commitment to excellence by ensuring that our fleet operates at peak performance and safety standards.

Position Overview : We are looking for an experienced and proactive Fleet Maintenance Manager with a strong blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a solid background in preventative maintenance and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Standards (FMCSA) compliance. The ideal candidate will excel in managing maintenance workflows, optimizing processes, and driving the integration of advanced fleet technologies. While hands-on mechanical work isn't the focus, a deep understanding of vehicle systems, safety regulations, and maintenance is crucial to lead the team effectively and ensure our fleet operates efficiently and safely. This role is essential for maintaining fleet performance and safety, while preparing for future innovations in vehicle technology.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the fleet maintenance department, ensuring smooth workflows and efficient processes.
  • Implement and refine maintenance workflows to reduce downtime and maximize fleet availability.
  • Integrate advanced vehicle technologies, keeping the fleet at the forefront of innovation.
  • Develop and oversee maintenance schedules to ensure compliance with manufacturer guidelines, safety regulations, and FMCSA standards.
  • Foster a collaborative and skilled team environment by mentoring staff and ensuring they receive ongoing training on the latest maintenance protocols and technologies, coordinating with external trainers or resources when necessary.
  • Work closely with the safety and operations departments to ensure maintenance practices align with overall company objectives.
  • Oversee budgets, manage parts inventory, and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure cost-effective and seamless operations.
  • Utilize fleet data analytics (Saucon TDS) to anticipate maintenance needs, drive performance improvements, and enhance overall fleet efficiency.

Qualifications :

  • 5 years of experience in fleet maintenance management, ideally within the transportation or logistics industry.
  • Strong technical expertise, including experience with advanced vehicle technologies, telematics, and diagnostic tools.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills, with a track record of optimizing workflows and driving operational efficiency.
  • Ability to lead technicians by leveraging strong technical acumen to guide correct decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in fleet maintenance software such as Maintenance Pro or similar products and utilizing data-driven maintenance strategies.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of DOT regulations, FMCSA compliance, and industry safety standards.
  • Strong technical acumen
  • Experience managing budgets, parts inventory, and vendor relationships is a plus.
