Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversees, supervises and coordinates activities of warehouse teammates.
- Reviews reports from the AM management team.
- Conducts a pre-shift inspection of the Warehouse. Determines the readiness of the forklifts, order pickers and other equipment assigned. Also assesses the overall maintenance and condition of the warehouse and surrounding areas.
- Advises and demonstrates to the employees on care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped; methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping stock; and related problems.
- Complete reports as needed and communicates essential information to management and day Warehouse Supervisor/Manager.
- Studies records and recommends remedial actions for reported non-usable, slow moving, and excess stock.
- Reviews records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures, and to determine adequacy of stock levels.
- Schedules work for special and periodic inventories.
- Ensures all actions and processes are performed in a safe and orderly manner.
- Monitors safety of forklift operators and provides training and retraining as needed.
- Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.
- Determines and improves work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
- Issues written and oral instructions.
- Interviews applicants and evaluates performances.
- Examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
- Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.
- Maintains harmony among workers and is the first person in the chain of command to resolve grievances.
- Conducts post-shift inspection of the Warehouse.
- Provides safety training to teammates in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Trains and retrains employees.
- Other duties as assigned by the PM Warehouse Manager and Operations Manager.
Education and/or Experience
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Forklift certification and other warehouse certifications as needed. Train-the-trainer certifications preferred. Knowledge of OSHA regulations preferred.
Computer Skills
Knowledge of Inventory Software.
