POSITION SUMMARY
The Purchasing Clerk is responsible for coordinating the purchase of products with our Wine & Spirit supplier partners. The position is responsible for handling administrative duties relating to purchases, including but not limited to: product transfers, tracking of orders, supply, logistics, freight coordination.
This is on site position in our Brooklyn, NY office.
The disposition of clerical tasks as required by the day-to-day operation of the department.
ESSENTIAL POSITION RESULTS
- Collect and distribute daily receiving paperwork
- Process co-pack items upon request
- Create pickup orders from locally sourced warehouses
- Prepare pier pickup paperwork for drivers and communicate with Customs broker for freight and Customs releases;
- Check pier availability, guarantee demurrage charges, confirm delivery orders
- Create container ETA reports; book appointments for pickups and empties
- Research Purchase order numbers for TRAC invoices'
- Purchase order numbers for freight invoices;
- Research Trailer Interchange Reports (TIR) for freight invoices;
- Update weekly container log for purchasing agents;
- Prepare monthly NJ Fuel Tax and chassis usage reports;
- Schedule vendor transfers and process paperwork;
- Consolidate and schedule boxcar deliveries; book appointments/create delivery orders
- Book outside carriers for pier pickups;
- Order office supplies and monitor copy machines
- Organizes transportation documents and files for retention;
- Provides information by answering questions and requests;
- Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information;
- Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information;
- Maintains historical records by filing documents;
- Documents actions by completing production and quality logs;
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
High school graduate; Associate degree preferred
EXPERIENCE:
Two or more years Wine and Spirits industry experience preferred, or
Two or more years Logistics/Supply Chain industry experience

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Benefits offered for this role include:

- Salary Range: $45,000-$50,000
- The range is an estimate for this position. The company will evaluate a specific candidate's education, skills and experience when making an offer.
