What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plan-O-Gram Specialist position at Empire Moulding & Millwork?
This Plan-O-Gram (POG) Specialist I will be responsible for building and maintaining NHC POG’s. The POG Specialist I require the ability to create customer plan-o-grams from key sources such as database information as well as collaborating with key members of the NHC team as well as customers. The POG Specialist I also ensures that department compliance is occurring in functional areas outside of the POG department.
Shift: 8am - 5pm (M-F)
Pay: $40,000 annually
Essential Responsibilities:
- Maintains attention to POG’s to all touch points where POGs are utilized systematically within the Novo system.
- Works closely with Lowe’s Visual Planner, POG Dept, and Merchant to address corporate or store concerns regarding bay locations, item selections, stocking statuses, etc.
- Develops the plan-o-grams, activation lists, delete lists, and product recommendations.
- Determines what product line is best suited for new bays based on store needs and bay locations, providing POG, stocking, and initial order information.
- Removes inefficiencies in current plan-o-grams as it relates to customer inventory, product selection, and space availability.
- Inputs SKU stocking requests for new items, SKU adds or deletes, and adjusts POG based on Lowes existing product while Re-sequencing POGs to match store sets due to item additions/removals.
- Provides Lowe’s with timely information regarding activations and deactivations, new store bookmarks, and order information with request to be entered.
- Resolves capacity issues by editing POGs or advising on neighboring SKU reductions.
- Collaborates with CPM (Customer Performance Management) to determine reset needs of a store, creates and distributes reset crew reports, and assists in resolving set problems encountered by those working in the field.
- Maintains Store Mappings and acquires updated data from the Field Services team to ensure that all are updated and accurate.
- Coordinates timely roll-out of new items and/or product lines into POGs.
- Researches market specific product needs to ensure appropriate SKU mix for all CPM customer locations, as well as potential new markets and competitive positioning, when needed or requested.
- Creates and updates surveys and questionnaires pertinent to plan-o-grams.
- Assists in the development of effective sales presentations including routine “line reviews” as prescribed by CPM home center customers, limited to areas related directly to POG’s.
- Obtains the necessary sales information for store plan-o-gram development by running Access Data Base Programs and reviews auto reports and makes corrections as needed.
- Creates, saves, and stores paperwork related to items returned to the warehouse.
- Ensures the Field Service team has necessary data to perform his or her job, responding to questions and resolving POG-related concerns.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications (Required)
- Minimum of three years of related industry experience with an established record of strength in organizational skills, aptitude for understanding sales performance metrics, marketing intuition and ability to develop and sustain strong professional relationships.
- Proficiency in the use of technology, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Access.
- Industry knowledge and experience sufficient to establish and maintain respect within all areas of

- Demonstrated leadership ability, time-management skills, strong work ethic, and ability and drive to achieve goals and maintain company standards.
- Current unrestricted (other than for vision correction) driver’s license along with adequate ongoing auto insurance on personal vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications
- A bachelor's or associate degree in business, marketing, or a related field preferred but not required.
- Experience and/or knowledge of building products or materials industry.
Travel Requirements
- Travel 0 to 25% to visit various locations.
- Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out of the area travel and overnight may be expected.
