Carpenter
Job Summary:
This position requires a construction minded individual. You will be responsible for overseeing and working in many fields of construction on residential and commercial properties. You will support a team of dedicated, like-minded teammates, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the high standards of quality and safety. Ideal candidates will be self-motivated, detail oriented and like “thinking outside the box”
Responsibilities:
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Proficient in laying out a job based on plans
- Competent in general construction skills
- Skilled in performing framing, trim carpentry, rough carpentry
- Blueprint reading
- Equipment operation
- Put together a full parts list for a project
- Confirm tools, equipment, materials daily
- Understand how to order building materials
- Learn grade stakes/understanding of grade stakes
- Ability to set and maintain project goals
- Keep crew members positive and on task
- Manage truck and site tools
- Able to lead on small projects
- Pull a trailer safely
- Able to read and understand blueprints
- First Aid/CPR/AED Certified
- Work in all weather conditions
- Show up on time
- Able to lift 50 lbs. and work on feet for 8 hours
- Stay on task while unsupervised
Qualifications:
High school or equivalent is required
US work authorization is required
Valid driver’s license is required, reliable transportation, a CDL is a plus
Able to meet physical requirements of the position including, but not limited to: prolonged periods of standing and sitting, working in confined spaces and from heights, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs and ladders, working in a variety of conditions (heat, cold, etc.), lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted
Demonstrate ability to work independently while also able to work in a team setting
One year of construction experience
Willing to work M-F with weekends, 8–12-hour shifts, and overtime when needed
Ability to use a variety of hand tools and all power tools
Ability to operate heavy equipment, i.e. skid loader, telescoping boom lift, etc.
