Responsibilities
- Student working towards a degree in construction management or related field
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Strong interest in pursuing a career in the construction industry and/or project management
- Demonstrate proficiency in math and analytical skills
- Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Willingness to learn and demonstrate leadership skills
- Reliable and clean motor vehicle and valid driver’s license
- Follow schedules and monitor attendance of crew members to maintain the timeline of job(s)
- Assist project manager
- Understand estimating
- Understand job setup
- Understand job contracts
- Assist with material take-offs
- Assist with submitting/answering RFI’s
- Assist with Submit 811 tickets and dig permits
- Conduct jobsite visits with PM or Assistant PM
- Assist with and learn tracking materials, equipment productivity tracking, and change orders
- Resolve problems when they arise
- Ensure all safety precautions and quality standards are met
- Translate job tasks to co-workers in ways they can understand
- Calculate concrete requirements accurately
- Learn and understand blueprint readings
- Communicate day-to-day progress

- Must be a current student working toward degree in Construction Management, or related field
- Strong interest in pursuing a career in the construction industry and project management
- Self-motivated and eager learner, aptitude to grow and develop within the field.
- Ability to read and comprehend construction documents
- Demonstrated proficiency of math and analytical skills
- Must have strong interpersonal skills with good verbal and written communication while working in a team environment
- Willingness and drive to learn
- Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedules
- Ability to understand and solve complex challenges in order to present alternative solutions
- Demonstrates leadership and interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
- Proficiency with computer applications including Microsoft Office

- Empire pays for employee hotels when traveling as well as $50/day per diem on top of your salary.
- $50/day pier diem
- Salary: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
