EMPIRE IS HIRING A MECHANIC!
Southern California's fastest-growing paving contractor is looking for a Mechanic to join our production team. Our office is located in Orange, California and we service the entire Southern California Area.
Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
- Service and repair all assigned vehicles, equipment, and associated items without assistance.
- Mobile and or emergency service and repair of equipment or vehicles in the field.
- Develop a preventative maintenance program and service schedule.
- Inspect vehicles and equipment for proper operation and condition.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and operational problems.
- Work effectively on gasoline and/or diesel engines, and all mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and/or electronic systems.
- Manage pre-trip and post-trip Inspection Reports to identify, track, and complete necessary repair and maintenance.
- Train truck drivers and operators on how to correctly inspect and maintain their assigned vehicles and monitor maintenance activities.
- Accurately document all service and repair work. Maintain complete repair and service reports.
- Other duties as assigned per supervisor.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.
Candidate must have 2-5 years of mechanic or repair technician experience.
The candidate must have a valid CA driver's license and a clean driving record.

- Must perform mechanical operations while lying or reclining in awkward positions for extended periods.
- Must work with their arms above the shoulders for long periods.
- Requires strenuous physical exertion, standing, walking, and/or climbing in various climates and ground conditions including temperature extremes, rain, wind, and snow for extended lengths of time.
- Must withstand continuous exposures to wind, dust, fumes, and noxious odors.
- Must possess the strength, mobility, agility, and balance to walk unrestricted on uneven, unsure, and slippery surfaces without assistance.
- Must possess unrestricted mobility to twist, turn, bend, and lean in all directions, look up, down, and side to side without hesitation or discomfort.
- Except for conventional corrective aids, one must possess normal eyesight, depth of perception, field of vision, normal hearing, quick reaction time, unimpaired eye-hand coordination, and manual dexterity.
- Must possess the strength, mobility, agility, and balance to ascend access ladders and steps, and to maneuver on equipment and vehicles without assistance.
- Must repetitively lift up to 100-pounds, 10-times a day.
- Required upper body strength to perform repetitive bending at the waist.
- Must repetitively climb and dismount from a high vehicle cab 50-times a day.
- Must repetitively lift up to 60-pounds, 50-times a day.
- Must possess sufficient strength to continuously operate equipment controls and tools weighing up to 20-pounds for uninterrupted periods of up to 4-hours.

- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
- Work schedule is Monday through Friday with weekends and some holiday and evening work required. Generally, 60 hours per week.
