Summary : The Material Handler provides materials and components from Material Coordinator to Production
Floor per Work Orders for job allocations.
Essential Functions Document all steps are complete using work order checklist.
Remove materials from staging area as per the work order traveler, resin, packaging, and components
Identify/Label/Tag material as per procedures
Properly cover and contain materials to maintain purity throughout the preparation process.
Prepare press for production, anticipating startup, to include: plastic resin, granulators, inserts, subcomponents, and special packaging.
Set-up the press with the appropriate clean dryer for the job. Clearly identify material in dryer.
Maintain proper levels in dryer hopper to ensure correct material residence time
Ensure that material is dried for specified time and temperature, verify moisture level is correct
Inspect granulators for proper operation and size
Identify materials being ground
Maintain granulator box levels during operation
Clean granulator as per procedure
Grind runners and rejected parts from all jobs and the hold area
Identify and remove all unused and reground materials to returning material staging area
Clean machine loader, machine surfaces, and mold area of all materials, parts and runners using vacuum cleaner or other appropriate method
Clean all auxiliary equipment and remove from the production area
Ensure that all material from the previous work order has been removed
Report and document any required maintenance to equipment
Assist in general housekeeping of the production area
Maintain Material Handler Daily Shift report throughout the shift and document all changes in jobs and status of machines.
Follow company safety policies and special equipment safety practices as needed
Assist or replace other team members as needed to ensure production schedule is maintained
Ability to work overtime including extended days and/or weekends as needed
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role
Strong mechanical and organizational skills
Ability to prioritize workload and be self-directed to stay on schedule
