Summary :
This position is responsible for measuring, recording, and reporting the quality characteristics as documented in the Process Documentation Procedures (PDP). The handling of production, product, samples, gauges, and records must be done as per documented procedures that are consistent with Empire Precision Plastics’ Quality Policy.
Essential Functions
· Perform activities as documented in the Quality System and Work Instructions such as In-process inspection, final inspection and test, and rejecting nonconforming material
· Verify calibration of gauges in use is clearly identified and are in calibration (not expired).
· Provide status updates and any quality issues with other shift inspectors
· Accurately document inspection results
· Communicate any quality or process issues with supervisor
· Review quality requirements with each operator at the beginning of the shift
· Complete Inspection Status Worksheet
· Follow company safety policies and special equipment safety practices
· Assist other team members as needed to ensure production schedule is maintained.
· Relieve operators for breaks and/or lunches as requested by shift supervisor.
· Perform other duties as assigned
· Perform Receiving Inspection
Required Skills
· A minimum of two years’ experience in a similar role desired
· Must be proficient in the use of measuring equipment such as SmartScope, micrometers, calipers, height gauges, optical comparators, etc.
· Experience with SPC Charts
· Good decision making and problem solving skills
· Basic math skills required
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Basic Blue Print Reading
· Strong attention to detail
· Advanced knowledge of Inspection and test equipment
· General Injection Molding knowledge preferred
· Filemaker and IQMS experience a plus
· Ability to work overtime, including extended days and/or weekends as needed
