Position: Maintenance Technician
Salary: $19-$20/hour
Shift: 1st shift
Are you skilled in property maintenance and ready to make a difference in a historic community? A vibrant property of 70 historic rowhouses with 210 apartments is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician to help maintain the buildings and grounds and support daily operations.
Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician will assist the Maintenance Superintendent in daily upkeep and perform essential tasks to ensure the property remains safe, clean, and operational.
What You’ll Be Doing
· Perform maintenance and repairs on apartments, common areas, and parking lots, including routine service calls, turnover cleaning, painting, and snow removal.
· Implement the Preventative Maintenance Schedule to maintain property standards.
· Conduct inspections and prepare reports on property conditions and maintenance operations.
· Perform maintenance on equipment, vehicles, and buildings.
· Provide on-call coverage for emergency calls.
· Respond to resident service requests, lockouts, and disturbances.
· Monitor site lighting and report problems.
· Inspect parking lots for oil spills, unauthorized vehicles, and dumpster areas.
· Report building damage, vandalism, and unusual circumstances in writing to the Community Leader.
· Maintain required records and documentation.
What You Bring
· Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
· Experience: Previous property maintenance experience required, including plumbing, electrical, basic HVAC, and carpentry skills.
· Skills: Strong communication skills, ability to multitask, and a collaborative team spirit.
· Physical Ability: Regularly lift and move supplies/equipment up to 75 lbs, perform tasks requiring standing, reaching, climbing, and stooping.
Typical Work Conditions
· Work is performed in apartments, common areas, and on the property.
· Regular interaction with residents and staff during the workday.
