Overview
The Training Supervisor will provide direct supervision to a team of individuals responsible for training. This role will provide a standardized training process that will ensure new employees and current employees have the skills, knowledge, and ability to perform their jobs safely and within the standards of the organization. On an on-going basis the Training Supervisor will work to deliver training, maintain a structure that is efficient, effective, and timely.
Responsibilities
- Leads team responsible for working with new and current employees during the first 90 days in their new role to help employee adapt to their roles and responsibilities.
- Ensure all new and current employees receive appropriate training necessary to do their jobs. Anticipate employee needs and be available to answer questions as they arise.
- Continually look for new and creative ways to deliver quality hands-on training to all employees, as well as recommending various methods to ensure training initiatives are met.
- Assist with data entry, tracking, and maintaining all pertinent training records and submitting all reports on time.
- Collaborates with management to identify and assess employees for the purpose of developing succession plans. Will be a contributor in the implementation of succession plan.
- Provide consistent and clear communication to the Training Manager as well as all other key people regarding the status of all training programs.
- Supervise on the job training conducted by shift trainers, ensure the quality of the training, and identify trends. Bring forward new ideas and recommendations for changes or improvements. Will address problem areas and bring forward solutions.
- Conducts various types of training specific to the job such as equipment training, technical skills development, soft skills training. Collaborate in the development or improvement of job aids and e-learning instructional videos.

Qualifications
Skills and Abilities
- Highly skilled in the facilitation of learning solutions and presentation skills to all levels of the organization.
- Familiar with instructional design and curriculum development processes.
- Excellent planning, organization, leadership, presentation, decision making, and analytical skills.
- Mechanical aptitude or background in working with precision machine parts, experience planning, scheduling, and performing various technical and administrative functions, developing alternative solutions to problems, supervising, training, and evaluating employees, and sound decision-making abilities is desired.
- Must have basic math skills.
- General computer knowledge and proficiency.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
- Experience with a learning management system.
Demonstrated Competencies
- Excellent planning, organization, leadership, presentation, decision making, and analytical skills.
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate information clearly, including reading and speaking English.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of employees as necessary, both in verbal and written form. Bi-lingual English/Spanish is required.
- Ability to maintain confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Must have regular and punctual attendance.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 60lbs.
- This position requires walking, standing, twisting, reaching, bending, climbing, and lifting.
- Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, including weekends.
Experience: Prior supervisory or leadership experience is required. 3-5 years of relevant and progressive experience in training, development, and organizational development desired.Education: Bachelor’s degree in related discipline from 4-year College or University is preferred. Well-rounded, practical experience may be substituted in lieu of formal education.Department: Human Resources
