Mechanical Drafter Needed Company Overview : Empirical Systems Aerospace, Inc. (ESAero) is a growing aerospace company in the San Luis Obispo area that provides various services which include, but are not limited to, rapid system development, on-demand niche engineering, hands-on development / testing, and aerospace vehicle system development. Job Summary : ESAero is seeking a self-motivated Mechanical Drafter to join our team in San Luis Obispo, CA. The drafter will assist the engineers in the creation and release of mechanical drawings in the multi-functional product development of new aircraft design, while collaborating with project personnel. Responsibilities and Duties : Create and review engineering drawings Own top-level assemblies Audit sub-assemblies to ensure top level performance does not suffer Create drawing trees Advise others on best practices for Modeling Drawings Reorganize / revise Technical Data Package to “design as built” for ERP implementation Required Qualifications and Skills : Working knowledge of CAD drafting practices / drawing preparation SolidWorks experience 5-7 years Assembly creation / organization Drawing tools Configuration control PDM / CAD Database experience SolidWorks PDM preferred Development experience preferred Understanding of metadata requirements and use cases 3-5 years Manufacturing environment 5 years No degree required U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident Desirable Qualifications and Skills : ERP Experience NetSuite preferred Previous Experience Aerospace industry Fast-paced product design / development Manufacturing environment ASME Y14.5 knowledgeable Application of GD&T Excellent data management skills Technical writing proficiency Microsoft Office suite proficiency Formatting and template creation SolidWorks certifications CSWP-Mechanical Design CSWPA-SU Standard Benefits : Health : Health / Dental / Vision Retirement : 401k w / match Schedule : Flexible schedule, PTO Casual dress code, free snacks Amazing location to live, work, and play ESAero is an equal opportunity employer E-Verify participation required for employment.
