What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Payable Manager position at Employee Benefits Fund?
Manage the payable duties and responsibility to all Entities of the New York Hotel Trades Council and Hotel Association of NYC Inc Employee Benefit Funds. Supervise a staff of (5) and ensure daily workflow processes stay current and are accurate. Interaction with the accounting and pension departments, as needed. Interaction with vendors and providers on claim processing or AP invoicing. Responsible for the oversight of payables, claims processing and monthly reports. Reporting to the CFO and performing other duties upon request.
Position Responsibility:
- Manage a team of (5) employees
- Ability to oversee the workload and train, as needed
- Responsible for managing all operating checks and healthcare claims for each of the applicable Funds (Entities)
- Responsible for 1099 reporting
- Ability to work with HR Department and ADP payroll services, as needed
- Manage and monitor all banking functions, such as positive pay, ACH blocks, wire transfers, book transfers, ACH payments, stop payments, and void checks
- Assist Bank on fraud claims and affidavits, as needed
- Assist outside auditors by providing monthly reports for annual audits
- Generate and maintain vendor comparison reports
- Oversee electronic claim processing and payments, as needed
- Ability to reconcile intercompany transactions and transfers
- Assist with completion of credit applications upon request
- Daily review and monitoring on all bank accounts
- Posting journal entries for each entity on a monthly basis
- Process ACH and NACHA files, as needed
Position Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in Accounts Payable
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in supervising and/or managing staff
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficient Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to delegate and monitor the required work load
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
- Ability to meet deadlines
