Job Summary

  • This position, which sits out of our Harlem Health Center, is responsible for overseeing daily operations in the Reauthorization team and aiding with outside providers' orders. It ensures that departmental staff follow organization guidelines throughout the reauthorization process. It ensures efficient communication between the organization, patients, and outsider provider entities to ensure timely completion and service delivery. It supports in-network outside providers in ensuring comprehensive off-site care needs are arranged.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Proactively identifies operational issues and identifies potential improvement
  • Monitoring performance metrics and implementing improvements to optimize workflows, providing quality assurance to ensure authorizations are completed on a timely, accurate manner and in compliance with organizational standards
  • Assists as liaison between partner off-site providers
  • Supporting staff with training, troubleshooting and addressing complex cases
  • Handles problem calls, when necessary, from patients and/or partner off-site providers
  • Serves as a resource for off-site providers for explanations
  • Provides excellent customer service
  • Contributes to team effort
  • Collaborates with other departments and providers to streamline authorization process
  • Assists in other areas as needed

Education and Experience

  • 2 Years experience in healthcare (referral coordination experience preferred)
  • Ability to manage and effectively follow up on completion of assigned duties and responsibilities
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership and the ability to maintain positive and profesisonal relationships with peers
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Excellent analytical, critical, and abstract reasoning skills
  • Knowledge of medical record system (Cerner Preferred)
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook
  • Ability to quickly learn new eligibility, authorization, and EMR platforms
