What are the responsibilities and job description for the SENIOR CLINICAL SOLUTIONS ENGINEER - CERNER position at Employee Benefits Fund?
The Clinical Solutions Engineer and Analyst will develop and support all Cerner applications and workflows. The individual will act as a technical build resource and support production systems to ensure the availability of applications.
Position Qualifications
- The Clinical Solutions Engineer is responsible for customer build solutions within Cerner Millennium, and also investigating and resolving Cerner application issues using core Cerner tools such as Olympus, Bedrock, Discern, Core Event Manager, among others
- Manage Cerner Discern Apps (discern rules, discern visual developer)
- Daily responsibilities will include researching and building new functionality (dynamic documentation, Cerner Command Language, order management, implementing new Cerner modules, etc.), working with clinical end users and the vendor to determine the best and most innovative solutions, as well as organization requirements and workflow
- Analyze requests for new reports and mPages, and make recommendations related to best practices
- Plays an active role as a technical expert during application development and participates in brainstorming and design discussions with team members, which includes participation in new projects when appropriate
- Participates in Cerner application upgrades and implementations
- Debug system problems
- Create efficient and maintainable code
- Works in lockstep with supervisor on all aspects of project development and keeps management informed of project status
- Serves as a clinical/business systems analyst, collecting and documenting workflow requirements and translating them to and from both clinical and technical resources
Preferred Technical Qualifications
- Development and maintenance of Cerner Interfaces (ADT and clinical messages), FHIR API connections, and other types of integrations
- Develop, modify, and maintain custom mPages
- Comprehensive knowledge of Cerner Millennium ambulatory products and model workflows
- Cerner application configuration (basic dynamic documentation, Cerner command language, and comfortability with Olympus, Bedrock, Discern, Core Event Manager, among others)
Education and Experience
- Minimum for (4) years of IT experience in a complex health care environment, preferably in ambulatory care
- IT related experience that demonstrates a thorough understanding of the standard tools, workflow processes, and/or procedures and concepts used in the development and development of application software necessary to run clinical and business systems
- Bachelor Degree in computer science, information systems or related field preferred
