Are you detail-oriented with a strong background in billing, data reconciliation, and customer service? Employee Family Protection, Inc. (EFP) is looking for a Billing Specialist to support our account management team by handling payroll deductions, premium reconciliations, and client billing.
About the Role
As a Billing Specialist, you will play a key role in managing client benefit deductions, reconciling billing files, and addressing customer concerns related to payroll, billing, and remittances. This position requires a high level of accuracy, problem-solving, and excellent communication skills to ensure seamless billing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Senior Account Managers and Account Managers with file preparation and data entry.
- Reconcile payroll deductions with expected deductions on a weekly/monthly basis.
- Match and resolve discrepancies between carrier premium invoices and payroll deductions.
- Assist in the setup and implementation of consolidated billing, including EasyPay clients.
- Maintain up-to-date enrollment and demographic data in the billing system by pulling information from carrier and benefit administration platforms.
- Provide timely customer service, resolving billing and deduction-related inquiries in collaboration with the Benefit Service Center.
- Ensure compliance with internal processes and support overall billing operations for each customer.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
What We’re Looking For
- Education:
- Associate degree in business, accounting, or related field OR high school diploma with 5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience:
- 3 years of experience in billing, claims processing, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to research and resolve discrepancies.
- Experience handling payroll deductions and benefit reconciliations.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially advanced Excel, Word, Outlook, and Acrobat.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to interact professionally with a diverse client base.
- Licensing: Must obtain a Health and Life license within 180 days of employment.
