Hydraquip has four divisions: electric systems, fluid power, service & repair, and fluid conveyance. The Electrical Technician will play an important role at Hydraquip to assist with the growth of Hydraquip electric systems business. You will be responsible for helping with hardware installation, panel fabrication and panel solutions to address difficult challenges.
Responsibilities:
- Solid understanding of interpreting schematics of the following: general arrangement drawings, back panel layout drawings and cut-out drawings.
- Strong understanding of back panel layouts and design with strong knowledge of electrical codes and
- communicating possible challenges back to engineering for approvals or changes.
- Proficient in operating machinery and hand tools such as drill presses, circular saws, die grinders, pneumatic tools, nail guns, stud welders, hand drills, hole saws, band saws, jig-saws, grinders, cutting wheels and knock-outs.
- Installation of various electronic hardware.
- Knowledgeable in Panduit layout and sizing.
- Proficient in mounting external hardware such as displays, switches, disconnects and lighting.
- Proficient in installing and sizing glands and external connectors.
- Support and participate in the organization’s continual improvement program to conform to ISO 9001 requirements by complying with the Quality Policy and procedures and meeting QMS objectives.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education:
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Technical school certificate or associate degree a plus.
- Experience as described below may be accepted in lieu of education.
Desired Experience:
- Two (2) to five (5) years of experience in a related field.
- Experience in integration of electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Experience in marine, oilfield and industrial systems.
- Experience working in an ISO 9001 environment a plus.
Desired Knowledge & Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of industrial electrical wiring.
- Strong measurement interpretation.
- Basic math skills in measurements in imperial and metric.
- Knowledge of industrial electric standards.
- Understanding of electric/electronic schematics.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Strong personal skills and desire for growth as an individual and technician.
- Good communication skills.
- Good, safe work habits.
