The Employers Association of the NorthEast (EANE) is leading the search for a 2nd shift Loading Dock Supervisor for J Polep Distribution Services in Chicopee, MA. The 2nd shift Loading Dock Supervisor will lead a fast-paced dock operation. The qualified candidate will coordinate all activities of dockworkers and other support personnel. The Loading Dock Supervisor will provide planning and direction to ensure, damage-free, and safe loading of product. In addition, the supervisor will provide training, performance feedback, and provide disciplinary recommendations when necessary. This is a 2nd shift position starting at 3 pm. The standard work week is Sunday through Thursday.
Responsibilities & Duties of the Loading Dock Supervisor:
- Follow and promote all safety initiatives
- Ensure all work is performed according to J Polep procedures and standards for dock operations
- Mentor, coach, train, and cross-train employees; provide consistent feedback concerning strengths and areas in need of improvement
- Directly supervise all activities of dockworkers and support personnel engaged in loading trucks and trailers
- Coordinate work assignments, monitor performance, and provide training on relevant job duties
- Assist in the loading and unloading of trailers
- Perform other duties as necessary and assigned
Requirements
Qualifications of the Loading Dock Supervisor:
- Strong team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment
- 2 years of supervisory experience
- Ability to lift and/or move up to sixty (60) pounds
- Possess demonstrated leadership ability and skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of operations
· Must be able to read and clearly communicate in English· Ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus· Be proficient in general computer skills including MS Office and Outlook· Have excellent communication and problem-solving skills
