Job Description:
The Employee Compensation Assistant plays a critical role in ensuring payroll accuracy and supporting HR functions. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with payroll processing for 1,000 employees.
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry for new hires and rehires in the HRIS.
- Maintain virtual personnel files, ensuring proper documentation is stored securely.
- Conduct detailed payroll audits, including time tracking and leave requests.
- Process wage garnishments in compliance with court orders.
- Audit HRIS data for accuracy and completeness.
- Support unemployment claims processing.
- Build custom reports using Excel.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum one year experience in payroll or related administrative role preferred.
- Super-user proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data validation, and advanced formulas required).
- Experience with HRIS systems preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to spot discrepancies.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
- Bilingual in Spanish or Swahili is a plus.
