Job Description:

The Employee Compensation Assistant plays a critical role in ensuring payroll accuracy and supporting HR functions. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with payroll processing for 1,000 employees.
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry for new hires and rehires in the HRIS.
  • Maintain virtual personnel files, ensuring proper documentation is stored securely.
  • Conduct detailed payroll audits, including time tracking and leave requests.
  • Process wage garnishments in compliance with court orders.
  • Audit HRIS data for accuracy and completeness.
  • Support unemployment claims processing.
  • Build custom reports using Excel.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum one year experience in payroll or related administrative role preferred.
  • Super-user proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data validation, and advanced formulas required).
  • Experience with HRIS systems preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to spot discrepancies.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
  • Bilingual in Spanish or Swahili is a plus.
