What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at Employers Overload?
GENERAL FUNCTION:
Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, is responsible for fixing, repairing, and troubleshooting equipment within the plant. This includes the upkeep of buildings and equipment. Responsible for helping maintain plumbing, mechanical, and all other related equipment and systems. Perform any other duties as required.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/FUNCTIONS:
- Communicate effectiveness of troubleshooting and equipment repairs.
- Ensure equipment is operating in normal condition.
- Follow up with the maintenance supervisor to ensure completion of jobs or projects in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Perform necessary analysis and preparation for maintenance work such as repairs, modifications, improvement, and new installation.
- Report on completion and accuracy of work.
- Follow all company safety rules, procedures, and practices.
- Communicate the need for purchasing, inventory, and use of parts.
- Keeps records of the preventive maintenance inspection, repair, and modification for all equipment.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations, along with any other regulations as required.
- Effectively communicate with production team members, management, and other departments.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 2 years of maintenance troubleshooting experience.
- Knowledge of OSHA and/or EPA regulations.
- Experience in preventive maintenance programs both in installation and upkeep.
- Self-starter with an ability to work independently or within a team.
- PLC's, electrical/electronic skills and overall maintenance trouble-shooting ability.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to lift, pull, tug, kneel, bend, stoop, climb, and walk up to 8 hours per day.
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds frequently, 25 pounds occasionally, and 10 pounds constantly.
